During January, ski areas across the state teamed up with Michigan McDonald’s restaurants to offer an affordable introduction to the sport of skiing and snowboarding. Although Discover Michigan Skiing is officially over, some ski areas are continuing it and others are providing their own learning programs!

Discover Michigan Skiing includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a beginner-area ski lift pass or cross-country trail pass all for just:             
Cross-country skiing for $20   •    Downhill skiing or Snowboarding $35

Here are some February offers for learning to ski:

Pine Knob Ski Area, Clarkston
Pine Knob is continuing the Discover Michigan program until February 18, with sessions on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

Mt. Holly, Holly
Mt. Holly will continue Discover Michigan Skiing through February for groups of 10 or more.  For reservations call Mt. Holly at 248-634-3249.


Timber Ridge, Goebles

Saturday Learn to Ski and Snowboard
Every Saturday from 4 p.m to 9 p.m. Lift, Introductory Lesson, and Rental. $40. Minimum age 9 for participants, Lessons begin promptly at 5pm (allow sufficient time approx. 40 minutes to get rental equipment and get to the instruction area).


Shanty Creek Resorts, Bellaire

Treetops Resort, Gaylord

  • SUNDAY BEGINNER PACKAGE - $95 includes an all day lift ticket, a 2 hour group lesson (must sign up at least 24 hours in advance) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and an all day rental
  • RETAIL – purchase skis, boots or bindings in our ski shop and receive a Season Ski Pass for the remainder of the season at Treetops.
